Cherokee, AL The maintenance planner/scheduler is responsible for the effective execution of the maintenance function by planning and scheduling all resources, tools and materials to conduct maintenance activities resulting in minimum downtime and maximum productivity.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Plan and order material required for maintenance work orders.
Review work requests for accuracy, clear scope of work, realistic completion date, proper lead times, correct equipment identification, proper charge number, proper authorization, and discuss details of the work order with originator and maintenance superintendent.
Management of the CMMS system to ensure that it is operating effectively while monitoring work backlog to ensure work orders are in the proper status Prioritize, plan, schedule, and follow-up on accuracy of the job plan for all planned, preventive and predictive work.
Prepare preventative maintenance routines (in collaboration with the Plant Engineers, Maintenance manager and superintendent) and proactively ensure they are reviewed and updated to achieve the desired outcomes.
Continually updates work plans, BOMs equipment trees and maintenance history Provide reports as required by the maintenance superintendent Prepare the weekly maintenance work schedule in conjunction with operating schedules.
Obtain and organize all information required for the maintenance personnel to perform work:
drawings, vendor manual, supplemental instructional materials, special procedures, and other file material that is appropriate Identifies and secures all parts and material required to complete the work by providing Stores with a Bill of Material for the work order and any special kitting instructions Coordinate weekly planning meetings related with maintenance.
Coordinate to rebuild spare equipment through external suppliers.
Submit engineering drawings for any further required revisions or upgrades.
Continuously improve job estimate, planning, and scheduling by receiving feedback from internal plant personnel Coordinate plant shutdowns with production department to complete all work with available downtime schedules.
Provide assistance to engineering for spare parts preparation and PM Lists for new equipment(s).
Provide technical assistance for supporting entire on-site maintenance activities.
Support proactively all EH&S procedures and policies.
Special Attention:
The position is safety and security in nature.
5 years' experience in a maintenance related role.
High School diploma or equivalent (GED) Organization, Planning, supervision, and motivation skills are required, as well as mechanical aptitude and experience with a CMMS system and Microsoft office.
Experience with a CMMS system along with Microsoft Office proficiency.
Good oral and written communication skills are required in this position along with the ability to organize and plan work for the maintenance department.
Preferred candidates will have strong mechanical aptitude and technical maintenance experience with the ability to understand blueprints and technical manuals.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Willingness to work around dust, chemicals, high pressure, high temperature, loud noises, and running equipment.
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel toed boots and hearing protection).
Must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
